Podere Sabaudia is one of the over 50 country houses in the village di Coltano which is in a huge natural country area between Pisa and Livorno, near to the sea side.

Coltano has a small village centre with restaurants, a Medici villa from the XXVI century with a museum about the story of Coltano and in honour to Guglielmo Marconi and a little grocery store with local products.

​

​Here in 1911 Guglielmo Marconi had transmitted the first radio waves to Canada and set the beginning of the modern telecommunication. In the near future the villa of Marconi will be restored and be transformed in a museum of telecommunication.
